This what I have been looking. The ability to chamfer and bevel with same bit and portability of not having an airline or dragging around a generator.

Great Chamfers in Stainless!

Polished some 1.25"x1.25" SS tube (1/8" wall). After cutting to size, I wanted to add some extra bling. This chamfering bit was just the ticket. Of course, the material needs to be feed SLOWLY and only take incremental bites. (Though the bit looks like woodworking bit, trying to feed stainless in a single pass would be brutal. The shaft is 1/4", and stressing it is not a good idea.)
On the part shown, the inside bevel is a single pass. The outside bevel is deeper and took 3 passes, slightly raising the bit after each pass.
Considering how hard stainless is on cutting tools, I'm quite impressed it was able to make the cuts and keep on going. The inserts can be rotated to give a fresh edge. (Sure beats having to send the bit to a shop to be sharpened, like my woodworking bits.) Even came with extra inserts and a spare guide wheel.
There are a bunch of chamfer tools on Amazon, but they are run by air. I don't have a HUGE compressor to run them, but I do have a router.
DEFINITELY would recommend this bit! If you are on the fence, just get it. You will be glad you did. It takes a metal working project to the next level. :-D

Metal Beveling Router Bit

I purchased this item thru Trick Tools. During the first use of the tool, the screws holding the inserts into the body broke. I called Trick Tools and told them what happened and they contacted Dirt Church. Dirt Church customer service sent me out another unit without question. I can't say enough about customer service like this. I will purchase from them again. The replacement tool has been working very well with no issues. The initial problem was more than likely caused by me not checking the screws before I started using the tool.

45 DEGREE METAL BEVELING ROUTER BIT

Looking for a cost effective way to bevel, deburr or chamfer your projects?  This 45 degree metal beveling router bit will work with any 1/4 inch shank wood router (corded or cordless), works on steel, aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, plastic, or wood.

Avoid the need for a bulky air compressor, being constrained by air hoses or power cords. With a battery-powered router, you have the freedom to move around, whether you're a traveling welder, pipe fitter, or home hobbyist.

Included with each fully assembled Beveling Bit, are (2) 45 degree replacement inserts and (1) replacement bearing.

When paired with the Milwaukee M18, 5.0 amp hour battery, the router can provide approximately 45 minutes of continuous runtime while operating at 100% duty cycle under full load.

We offer (2) different configurations of replacement inserts, sold separately.
  • The standard 45 degree inserts are perfect for tasks requiring significant material removal and offer exceptional durability.
  • The radius inserts are perfect for lighter tasks that don't require a 45 degree edge. The lifespan of this bit is shorter than that of the straight insert. The bevel radius is approximately, 1/32".
